Last week, on, well, Tuesday I played a show with the Tuesday Night Squad, a funk band led by Joey Banks. Joe is one of the most grooving drummers around and the band sounds great.
The special guest of the night was Clyde Stubblefield. Clyde’s recordings with James Brown are legendary, including the singles “Cold Sweat,” “I Got The Feeling,” “Say It Loud (I’m Black And I’m Proud)” and the album Sex Machine. As you can see by the expressions on my and percussionist Michael Walls’s face, it was a wonderful night.
